A Thank You to All the Informative Posters

Hail Titan Quest Members!

Hey gang! Our feel-good forum post of the month comes from Joe1992 who has taken the time to than the TitanQuest.net community for being as helpful as you are. We really do have somewhat of a reputation for being a class act so pat yourselves on the back.

Speaking of informative posts, some others of note this week warn you to not load up vanilla TQ characters when playing a mod. They will a'splode! A TQ blog entry persuades players to not skip passed normal mode even if you have access to things like defiler. You're missing out!

See you on the flip.

I had this game for several years now. I played it through to about the 3 Telkine in Epic - the 3rd Telkine killed me immediately. I could not do a thing with it. I never could get beyond that. I play a Conqueror.

I came here and realized my build was completely wrong and changed it around. All of a sudden I went back. I beat the Telkine first try. I beat Typhon on Epic first try (took a little while, though). I breezed through the rest of Epic. I died a little but not much - mostly from not taking certain bosses seriously enough.

So, then Legendary was poking at me. It takes a fairly long time for me, but I did pretty decently. But I beat it tonight. I then went to the Hidden area and beat it on Legendary.

I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a little more fanfare for beating the game on Legendary.

I have a 63 Conqueror.

Anyway, thanks to all of you. Sorry so long. I don't have many of the purple items, but I have the Alexander Helm and some legendary shield and a legendary breastplate. I used a green weapon that has life leech and 17% damage converted to life. I farmed the Hydra for the helm and the shield.

Anyway... lol. Thanks again.

Steam Version (Underlord Mod)

...if you had read the FAQ you would have noticed that it warns people, if you play the mod with an OLD TQIT character, you WILL lose all your stats/skill points. That happens with ALL mastery mods for TQIT.

Look at it this way:

the game can only handle 9 masteries at once. If you replace them with new masteries, the game doesn't recognize the old masteries anymore. When you play a mod with the old masteries, it doesn't recognize them because it's trying to give you your skills from the mod, which you don't have. So, you receive nothing. Each skill is tied to a file, when these files aren't found, you're assigned skillpoints to nonexistant skills, get it?

just a quick return to the discussion on normal vs epic vs legendary.
I don't agree with anyone else here!

I mean, skipping normal? You're skipping te entire transformation progress of your character, this is the basic of any rpg game. And I honestly don't get why you'd want to play an rpg game in this manner. If you start your char on level 40 and in epic, you haven't grown into it like you should have and playing a toon like that can never grant you the satisfaction a proper one would.

Epic is a testcase in many ways, epic is where you start getting hints of the trouble you might be experiencing for real in legendary. This part of the game gives you the possibility to finetune your toon, and in the final act of epic you start to realise what your strengths and weaknesses are.

But I don't understand why anyone would play so many characters and not get them to the end of the game?
Hydra the only new challenge in that entire difficulty? Hydra is a joke compared to legendary typhon or the final parts of act 4. If you don't finish legendary with a character, you simply haven't played the game with it, imo.
If I hadn't finished the game with my dreamkiller, I'd still be thinking he is one of the strongest and best classes out there.
Because I never had any trouble with him until I reached act 4 on legendary. There I had to think again, respec a little bit and adapt new strategies, otherwise I'd have never made it.

That's the whole point of a slasher rpg like this or diablo, it's basicly the three stages of life we go through.
